RECAP...
Injury
I was jogging in a rhythmic left-right pattern...
left, right;
left, right;
jog, jog;
jog, jog...
... when the pattern changed to...
jog, jog;
jog, jog;
jog, slap;
jog, slap;
jog, slap...
... followed a 'violent, violent, violent pain' from within the lateral side of my right knee that lasted for 10 to 15 seconds.
Order of events
This observation is important in determining the order in which events occurred in 2006:
1. Was it my flat feet that caused Foot Drop?
2. Foot Drop, can't walk properly.
3. Landing with bent knee, foot in plantar flexion and xxxxx rotation of the knee.
4. Anterolateral dislocation (subluxation) of the Proximal Tibiofibular joint.
5. Violent, violent, violent pain.
6. Pain at Fibular Head, initially on palpation, now mostly always.
7. Sharp, pulling pains that seem to stem from the lateral side of the proximal fibular head.
Symptoms
trip over uneven paving, kitchen mat,
or nothing at all.
Can't lift up my bad, right leg
either in front, knee to chin,
nor at back, heel to bum.
on touch,
under stress, eg. lounges, feels like it is ripping away.
I feel unstable movements... forwards/backwards, forwards/backwards,
Nobody else notices, eg. doctors, consultants, physiotherapists.
Going downstairs,
Sitting on side of bed.
Walking with slightly bent knee
To avoid pain and instability...?
Reduces feeling of hyperextention, 'wants to bend backwards'.
Painful when knocked backwards
Soooo painful.
Tenderness across joint,
Severe pain when fibular head is pressed,
Something feels like it is pulling down from fibular head at lateral side.
Used to swing leg out sideways in order to get onto next step,
Now go up with both feet on one step at a time.
Perhaps related to extensor digitorum longus, which seems to wrap around fibular head, promimally, and goes near the Achilles tendon, dorsally...?
Perhaps suggestive of proximal fibiotibular joint problem...?
Can't stand on tip toes nor on heel
Dorsiflexion or plantar flexion...?
Biceps femoris,
Gluteus medius;
Trendelenberg pathologies, eg. footdrop, wearing down of shoes,
Retrospective pain when seated...?
Medial knee pain with ultrasound
Very bad pain found with pressure.
Neck (and Back)
C2 and C3 problem (?) found 6-7 years ago locally,
Now, no pain but can 'hear' crinkling celophane noises,
Now back pain in Lumbar spine area and a bit higher up too.
Lunges feel like something is pulling away from heel,
Exercise bike, depressing pedal caused severe pain,
Squats with back against wall, caused severe pain.
Proximal tibiofibular joint dislocation
Mechanism of anterolateral dislocation.
